The Literacy and Adult Education Unit at the Faculty of Early Childhood Education, in cooperation with the Adult Education Unit at the University, organized an educational seminar on the challenges and problems in the literacy project on Sunday, November 16, 2025. . The seminar was presented by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdullah Al-Feki, Professor of Education and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Education for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Executive Director of the Adult Education Unit at the University, and Mr. Louai Abdullah Salim, Director General of the General Authority for Adult Education in Sharqia, in the presence of Prof. Sarah Salim, Director of Planning and Public Relations and University Coordinator at the General Authority for Adult Education in Sharqia, a group of faculty members and assistants, and a large crowd of female students from the college, at 11:00 a.m.
At the beginning of the workshop, Prof. Rania Adel welcomed the distinguished guests and participating students and emphasized the importance of active participation in order to benefit from and inquire about everything related to the literacy project.
Dr. Fatma Jamal, Director of the Unit, then explained the importance of participating in the project and welcomed the guests. Prof. Dr. Mohamed Al-Feki, Professor of Education at the Faculty of Education, Zagazig University, and Executive Director of the Adult Education Unit at Zagazig University, welcomed the participants, the Dean of the Faculty, the Vice Deans, and the Director of the Unit. He spoke about how illiterate people are selected and how they are taught, the most important strategies and mechanisms that can be used with them, why university students participate in the literacy project, and its impact on society. He also spoke about the most important challenges and problems that students in different faculties may face when carrying out the literacy project and the mechanisms that can be activated when searching for illiterate people and reaching them easily without any exploitation. He also provided the guidebook and the literacy form for female students.
Mr. Louai Abdullah Salim, Director General of the General Authority for Adult Education in Sharqia, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the team at the Faculty of Early Childhood Education at Zagazig University, the students, and the visitors. He explained the most important steps for participating in the literacy and adult education project and how to avoid any exploitation that may be directed at them. He also clarified the number of directorates affiliated with the literacy project that they can turn to and explained the importance of the literacy project for society. It was an enjoyable and informative meeting for everyone, which ended with answering the students' questions and taking commemorative photos. Prof. Dr. Shehta Hassani, Dean of the Faculty, honored the guests and presented them with certificates of appreciation in recognition of their efforts.
